About
I'm an economist and macro strategist living and working in Edinburgh.
I cover the global economy and its implications for financial markets for a major asset manager. You can read some of my analysis here. I also co-host a podcast discussing all things economics and politics called Macro Bytes.
My undergraduate studies were in Philosophy, Politics & Economics (PPE) at Oxford. I always thought that I would become an academic philosopher, but a turbulent decade-and-a-half in markets has made being a financial economist enormously interesting. My postgraduate studies were at the University of London, where my dissertation was on the predictability of revisions to macroeconomic data.
I am originally from Jersey, one of the Channel Islands which sit off France. I've also lived in Cyprus, Germany, and Ireland, After a stint in London, I am now settled in Edinburgh, Scotland, with my young family.
